Tom Cruise Eyes The Man from U.N.C.L.E.
Tom Cruise is in early talks to star in The Man from U.N.C.L.E. for Warner Bros. and director Guy Ritchie.
The project is based on The Man from U.N.C.L.E. NBC TV series, which ran from 1964 to 1968. Robert Vaughn and David McCallum starred as two agents of the United Network Command for Law Enforcement (U.N.C.L.E.), who did battle with the nefarious organization Technological Hierarchy for the Removal of Undesirables and the Subjugation of Humanity (T.H.R.U.S.H.). No specific plot details were given for this new version.
Guy Ritchie is directing from a screenplay by Scott Z. Burns (Side Effects), which has been in various stages of development for several years. Steven Soderbergh was set to direct George Clooney in the lead role at one time, before they both dropped out back in 2011. Lionel Wigram will produce for Warner Bros. No production schedule was given.
Tom Cruise will next be seen in Oblivion, opening on April 19.
Discuss.
I don’t know why everyone’s so upset. I think he’d make a perfectly decent Waverly. Not a great one, but good enough.
You know you’re an MFU fanfic fan when you see this and all you can think of is Illya’s dream about Zombie Lenin.
